Wheelchair users
The Globe Theatre has provision for wheelchair users in the Yard and Gentlemen's Rooms, and there is full disabled access throughout the rest of the Globe site. Wheelchair users booking places in Gentleman's Room Q may bring one escort, if required, at no cost. Gentlemen's Room tickets must be pre-booked. One wheelchair platform is available in the yard – this must be pre-booked through the Box Office. If you are not wishing to book the platform there is provision for three wheelchair users (with one companion each) in the Yard. Please note: Yard tickets are not discounted in any way.
Wheelchair users should be aware that the Yard is the closest place to the stage and accommodates up to 700 people standing. The stage is five feet above ground level and sightlines can often be restricted.
There are two wheelchairs available to assist patrons to their theatre seats. Unfortunately they cannot be used throughout a performance.
Deaf or hard of hearing patrons
A hearing aid induction loop is available at all performances, but please note that because the Globe is an open-air theatre, the loop will amplify all sounds, including aeroplanes overhead and boats on the river. Hearing aids should be switched to 'T' position. Hearing dogs are welcome - please inform box office staff when booking and contact the House Manager upon arrival. Please be aware that the Yard can be very noisy and crowded and that certain productions contain loud sound effects such as cannon fire.
Signed Performances
The interpreter usually stands stage-right and the best view of the interpreter is from the Yard.
For advice on the best places to sit to view the interpreter, please ask the Box Office when booking.
Please note: the Globe does not provide hearing aids.
Blind or visually impaired patrons
Guide dogs are welcome - please inform box office staff when booking and contact the House Manager upon arrival. Please be aware that the Yard can be very noisy and crowded and that certain productions contain loud sound effects such as cannon fire.
