Shakespeare's Birthday
SHAKESPEARE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY
Every year we celebrate Shakespeare's Birthday in the lead-up to our Theatre Season on 23 April.
For the event we open our doors for our free day of family events, activities, games and performances. In 2010 the day was filled with musical mayhem as the public created sound effects to the witches scene in Macbeth, went on a date with Henry VIII, sang-a-long to favourite tunes with Globe musicians, and even trod the boards of the famous Globe stage. These exciting activities all took place in and around our world famous exhibition and theatre.
Also cross the site there were workshops and family events and activities for St George's Day inspired by the Mayor of London's ‘Rhythm of London’ campaign, and the plays in the Globe's 2010 Theatre Season of Kings & Rogues.
