What does standing mean?
Standing means not sitting. Patrons are not permitted at any time to sit in the yard area; this is a health and safety requirement of the building. Please do not bring folding chairs, shooting sticks, or any other items to sit on. Many plays last for two to three hours. If you are uncomfortable standing for this length of time it is possible to purchase a sitting ticket from £15.
Where is the nearest tube station?
St Paul's (Central Line)
Mansion House, Blackfriars, Cannon Street (District and Circle lines)
London Bridge (Northern and Jubilee Lines)

Is there any parking?
Parking is very limited around the Globe itself. There is an NCP car park over Southwark Bridge on Upper Thames Street. Please note that this car park closes at 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Is there a cloakroom?
Regrettably, there is not, due to security requirements.
Is the theatre air conditioned or heated?
No. The theatre is open air. The temperature is dependent upon the weather.
What happens when it rains?
Those in seats will be under the protection of a sound roof. Those standing in the yard are at the mercy of the elements. The show will continue regardless.
Is food and drink allowed in the theatre?
Yes. Plastic drink containers only, please. No glass bottles.
Can we take pictures during performances?
Regrettably, no.
Is it possible to reserve a table at the Globe Restaurant for pre or post-performance meals?

You can meet inside the main entrance to the foyer, or by the large iron Groundling Gates, located outside in the Piazza.
Can we sit in the yard area?
No.
Can we bring shooting sticks or chairs?

Are children welcome?
Children are especially welcome to watch performances at the Globe. With the freedom to come and go as one pleases, parents or guardians can take small children in and out of the auditorium without disturbing their fellow theatregoers. In fact, the theatre and its associated exhibition are the ideal places in which to introduce children to Shakespeare. Patrons with younger children may like to explore the possibilities afforded by Globe Education's ChildsPlay programme.
Is there a dress code?
There is no dress code, in accordance with the Globe's informal atmosphere. However, patrons may wish to bear in mind that performances in the Globe are open to the elements, and it is therefore advisable to come prepared for rain or shine.
Do Yard tickets provide a good view of the stage?
Being both close to the action, and at the centre of the theatre's unique atmosphere, many patrons think that standing in the Yard provides the best of all possible views - especially since groundlings can move around, promenade-style, at their leisure.
When are guided tours of the theatre available?
During our theatre season (April- early October) the first guided tour is at 9.30am. Tours leave every half-hour and last between 30 and 40 minutes each. On days when there are matinee performances, the last tour into the Globe is at 12.30pm (11.30am on Sundays); after this tours will go to the nearby archaeological site of Bankside's first theatre: the Rose.
