The Theatre Season runs from April to October with productions of the work of Shakespeare, his contemporaries and new writers. Each Year the Globe Theatre Company rediscovers the dynamic relationship between the audience and the actor in this unique space. Audiences experience the 'wooden O' either sitting in a gallery or standing informally as a groundling in the yard, just as they would have done 400 years ago.

2009 Statistics

  • The 2009 theatre season ran for 275 performances from 23 April to 10 October.
  • The total audience was 345,000 (87% of capacity)
  • 40% of tickets sold were £5 standing tickets for the yard.
  • The two touring productions played to 35,000 across the UK and Europe.
