Rutgers Conservatory at Shakespeare's Globe
A one year course at Shakespeare's Globe as part of a BFA at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey
In partnership with Globe Education and under the instruction of theatre artists from the UK, students from Rutgers University undertake a rigorous training programme consisting of acting, voice, movement, speech, fights and period dance.
The opportunity to work at the Globe with master scholars and practitioners combines the best of conservatory training with first-rate undergraduate education.
Mason Gross Theater Arts at Rutgers University is committed to providing intensive, integrated conservatory training that will help young focused theatre students grow into dedicated and versatile professional theatre artists. Actors are trained in the American Stanislavsky/Meisner tradition and the one-year programme at Shakespeare’s Globe was established to enrich and complement this training.
In addition to their actor training, students work with Globe Education Practitioners in schools in the community to discover how actors can share their skills and knowledge with young people in workshops and in projects.
