Training Days
Since 1997, Globe Education has been providing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for teachers and trainee teachers to support the teaching and learning of Shakespeare within the frameworks of the National Curriculum and the National Literacy Strategy. Through CPD, Globe Education aims to provide teachers with active, practical approaches to Shakespeare that will inspire, enhance and develop their classroom practice. This year, Globe Education are pleased to offer courses including a full day of workshops devised in association with the DCSF to support the teaching of Shakespeare at Key Stages 3 and 4. If you cannot find a course to meet your needs, Globe Education can devise a training day especially for you and your group - see our bespoke courses option below.
The Globe is committed to the borough in which it lives. Globe Education is pleased to be able to offer a concessionary price for teachers who work in the borough of Southwark. At times, bursaries may become available to support attendance. Globe Education will contact eligible schools and teachers at those times.

Teaching Students Gifted and Talented in Drama
Tuesday 20 May 2008

It is vital for teachers to be equipped to provide for all students' needs, including the most able. This one day course will explore what is means to be 'gifted and talented' in drama. Participants will actively engage with the process of identification of gifted and talented students, and work through activities designed by Globe practitioners to stretch and develop those students' skills.
Using practical approaches to Shakespeare to engage boys
Wednesday 11 June 2008
£100 including lunch (£65 Southwark teachers)
Many recent studies have identified boys' achievement as a cause for concern, particularly in English. This workshop explores how boys of all ages can be re-engaged with words, characters and context through practical approaches. Participants will take part in workshops led by Globe Education Practitioners to discover how a range of activities can help boys to engage with the language, characters and world created by Shakespeare.
What is creativity?
Wednesday 18 June 2008
£100 including lunch (£65 Southwark teachers)
Creativity is one of the most commonly used terms in education today. This one day course will use the expertise and experience of Globe practitioners to explore what creativity is and how it can add value to learning and teaching. Participants will develop their own understanding by working through practical activities that will enable teachers and students alike to discover their own creative potential and how it can be used to support all learning.
Bespoke Courses

Globe Education has worked closely with the DCSF, and training produced in collaboration with them can be delivered at your request.
All of our training can be delivered at the Globe or anywhere in the United Kingdom at a venue of your choice.
